by Allan Pease , Barbara Pease This book is brilliant. By the time you put this book down you will be able to tell what people are thinking by their body gestures. This book does more than give you dry text to read, it gives you tons of pictures, illustrations, and practice tests so you can affirm your new found skills. Pease does an excellent job of telling you what to look for.

Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps: How We're Different and What to Do About It (Paperback)
by Allan Pease , Barbara Pease
I was very surprised at how much I got from the book. Off the top of my head the book says women can see clearly in their peripheral vision. That's just crazy talk to a man because OUR peripheral vision is blurry. I had no idea and never would have known without this book. I've verified it with quite a few female friends just to be sure and they all concur. This explains why you almost never catch a woman checking out a guy. It also explains why men get caught so much.
It talks about how women can do many things at once while paying attention to all and men have to turn the TV down to answer the phone. I find this to be completely true as well.
It explains why men really are better drivers. I loved this one personally...

Signals: How To Use Body Language For Power, Success, And Love (Paperback)
by Allan Pease
Excellent, straight-forward book on deciphering body language. Line drawn illustrations, clearly written text without a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo and advice on how to react to certain behaviors to try to change situations to your advantage. Useful for anyone who wants to communicate more effectively.
There are lots of books on the subject. This has been published in the eighties and and you can tell it as soon as you have it in your hands: line drawn pictures (instead of photos), young men wearing ties and comments on smoking. But it is a book that has kept its qualities and now is enriched with the flair of the passing of time. What I most like is a very consistent structure: chapters are organized in a logical order and describe in a straight-forward manner a lot of body languague, that you can better understand with the pictures. It is very clearly written and if you do not have much time, you can just look at the pictures and the descriptive captions.. MORE...
